Who we are
EbikeCompare (ebike-compare.com) is an independent, specs-first e-bike comparison site for the Australian market. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names or payment details through this site. If you opt in to a price-drop alert, deal alerts, or the buyer's checklist, we store the email address you give us — see “Email alerts” below. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically records standard technical request data — such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of your visit — to serve pages, keep the site secure, and diagnose faults. The bikes you select to compare are stored only in your own browser and are never sent to us.
Email alerts
When you sign up for a price-drop alert, deal alerts, or the buyer's checklist, we store your email address, the alert you asked for, and (for price alerts) the bike and its price at the time, in our own content system hosted on Cloudflare. We use it solely to send what you asked for, and we never sell or share the list. Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email hello@ebike-compare.com at any time to be removed.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
Your advertising choices
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. If you are in the EEA or UK, you will be asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies directly in their settings.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate the site: Cloudflare (hosting, security, and content delivery) and Google AdSense (advertising). Each processes data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal information.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date below. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
